Water polo is a demanding sport! It is helpful, although not required, if the player is also a member of a swim team.
In order to play, the athlete should be able to swim 100 meters (4 lengths) unassisted, and without stopping, using any stroke. Also, they should be able to tread water for 60 seconds.
Beginning players should be at least 9-years-old by May 31, 2024. Younger players might want to try Splash Ball as a good, fun way to start learning water polo.
